Showcase at the Oscars

The Oscars are coming and there is no better place to see some of the year’s best films than on the big screen here at Showcase.

Included in the nominated films is James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of the Water, currently the fourth highest grossing films of all time!

We have a plethora of British nominees including first time nominee Bill Nighy for his stunning performance in Living and Kazuo Ishiguro for his screenplay for the same film.  Roger Deakins has won the Best Cinematography Oscar twice for Blade Runner 2049 (2017) and 1917 (2019) and is once again nominated, his 15th nomination, for his work on Sam Mendes’ Empire of the Light.

Our Oscar winning Flashback films

If you are looking for some Oscar winning classics then we also have you covered here at Showcase

Talking of Oscars winning epics, the king of the genre is James Cameron and it has been a staggering 25 years since Titanic swept all before it with 14 nominations, sailing off with 11 Oscars, and you can once again see Leo and Kate on our big screens as we celebrate the films 25th anniversary.

As part of our Flashback season we have three Oscar winning stonewall classics including Ridley Scott’s Alien, Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction and Audrey Hepburn’s Oscar winning performance in William Wyler’s Roman Holiday.

There are always huge debates about the veracity of the giving of Awards but what is not up for debate is that seeing a great film cannot be surpassed when you experience it on a big screen.
