November 2022 New Film Highlights

November is here and with it the day light hours are shorter and bonfire night looms large.

With mention of bonfire night be assured that November will bring plenty of cinematic fireworks here at Showcase Cinemas.

Living is set in London, 1953. Civil servant William is a willing cog within the city’s bureaucracy. Buried under paperwork at the office and lonely at home, his life has long felt empty. However, when he receives a shattering medical diagnosis, he is forced to act to try and grasp what life has to offer before it is too late.
Living is written by Kazuo Ishiguro (Atonement), adapted from Akira Kurosawa’s 1952 film, Ikiru, which in turn was inspired by Leo Tolstoy’s novella The Death of Ivan Iiyich.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Ryan Coogler returns with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a sequel to his own film, Black Panther (2018), and also within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Endgame (2019).

In Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M'Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje, fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T'Challa's death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia and Everett Ross and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.

She Said
Directed by Maria Schrader
Cast includes: Carey Mulligan; Zoe Kazan; Patricia Clarkson; Samantha Morton; Jennifer Ehle; Mike Housten

She Said was adapted from the book written by New York Times journalists, Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. Their critically acclaimed book was optioned by Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment and it uncovers the history of abuse perpetrated by Harvey Weinstein.
