A Red Carpet Week

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

It’s been a red carpet star-studded film premiere week here in the UK. First up were the M:I team in London, led by producer and star Tom Cruise of course for the premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One! As we have come to expect Mr. Cruise, who plays agent Ethan Hunt in the Mission franchise, walked the carpet for an age, making sure he gave his adoring fans the time they craved.

Also in attendance among a gaggle of celebrities were cast members Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, Pom Klementieff, Esai Morales and the director Christopher McQuarrie

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One opens at Showcase on July 10 and to ramp up the excitement even more, here are a few M:I factoids!

  • The only cast members to have starred in all previous films in the franchise are Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames, as Ethan Hunt and Luther Stickell respectively
  • Director Christopher McQuarrie returns to direct his third instalment in the M:I franchise, with the fourth film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two due in 2024
  • Also returning are cast members Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg and Vanessa Kirby
  • The primary villain is Gabriel, played by Esai Morales, who was cast when Nicholas Hoult had to step down due to scheduling conflicts
  • Christopher McQuarrie describes the Hayley Atwell’s Grace as a “destructive force of nature.”
  • And of Pom Klementieff’s Paris, McQuarrie had this to say, “She is somebody who, at the start of our story, is partnered with Esai and represents this malevolent force that Ethan is opposed to.”
  • As for the jaw dropping stunts we have come to expect, Tom Cruise has declared that it is not that he does not get scared, but rather that he doesn’t mind being scared when executing the stunts

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One comes to Showcase 10 July

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

The second, but equally as exciting premiere was for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. It is the fifth film in the much-loved series. Present on the red carpet were Indy himself, Harrison Ford, screenwriter and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelson, John Rhys-Davies and producer Frank Marshall.

We won’t give anything away about the film as it is out now at Showcase Cinemas, but suffice to say it is a cracking Indy romp!
