What is an eGift Card?

An eGift Card is an electronic card, as opposed to a traditional plastic gift card, and can be purchased from showcasecinemas.co.uk and can be redeemed at any Showcase Cinema in the UK or online.

 

What are the advantages of sending an eGift Card over sending a conventional plastic card?

There are numerous advantages to using eGift Cards including the instant gratification and convenience of purchasing and using the gift card. eGift Cards are perfect for that last minute gift, and they are virtual so there are no delivery or handling charges. Lastly, eGift Cards are an environmentally friendly gift choice.

 

Do gift cards expire or have any fees?

Our gift cards do not hold expiry dates and should not expire until the full balance has been redeemed. Please note, if a gift card has not been used to make a purchase, top-up or balance enquiry during any period of five years or more, the gift card will be deactivated – to reactivate, please contact [email protected].

 

Is there a minimum amount and/or maximum amount I can put on a gift card?

Yes, our gift cards have a minimum value of £5 and a maximum value of £100 per card.

 

 

Buying & Sending

 

Are there any fees associated with purchasing an eGift Card?

There are no delivery or handling charges; you only pay for the face value of the eGift Card.

 

Can I change the value of my gift card purchase or cancel the transaction?

We're sorry but all gift card transactions are final. If you want to increase the gift card value, then a new transaction will be required.

 

Can I send myself eGift Cards since I want to give them to my friends, colleagues, and family?

Yes, you can send yourself eGift Cards. When purchasing, simply enter your email address in the "Recipient email address" section. Once you receive the eGift Card via email, you can either forward it to others or print it, then share it.

 

How will the recipient know that I sent them an eGift Card?

When you send a digital gift card, the recipient will receive an email notifying them a gift is waiting for them. The email will contain a link to access their eGift card. Once they click on the eGift Card link in the email, they will need to enter their email address to access their gift card. The gift envelope will open and show them the eGift Card, message, and photo/video, as applicable.

 

How will I know that the recipient opened their eGift Card?

As the purchaser, you will receive an email when your gift recipient has claimed their gift. However, your recipient may receive their original gift email and not click the link to claim their gift – you will only receive an email notification once they click the link to claim it.

 

How long does it take for an eGift Card to reach the recipient?

All gift cards purchased are subject to credit card and security processing. This typically happens within 20 minutes, however it could take up to 24 hours. If cards are not received within 24 hours, please contact us at [email protected].

 

I recently purchased and sent an eGift Card but it has not arrived. What should I do?

Occasionally, eGift Cards can be intercepted by spam filters. Please check with the recipient to see if their gift card is in their spam or junk folders. It is also possible an email address was incorrectly entered during the purchase; please check the email address you entered for the recipient.

 

If you have sent the eGift Card to the wrong address and need to change it, please contact us at [email protected] and include the order number, the incorrect email address, and the revised email address to which you would like the card sent.

 

 

Redeeming

 

Where can I use my gift card?

You may use your gift card at any Showcase Cinema in the UK or online at showcasecinemas.co.uk. Gift cards cannot be used in full or part payment of parties, group bookings, prestige tickets and private hires.

 

Can I use a card internationally?

No - Showcase Cinemas gift cards ordered from this site are valid in the UK only.

 

How do I use my eGift Card?

Once the recipient has received their gift email, they can click the link to claim their card online. When clicking the link, the eGift Card will display with the name, personalised message, photo or video, eGift Card number, amount, and instructions on redeeming the gift.

 

To use a gift card, click the "Print your gift card" button. Please be sure your printer is switched on and connected to your computer. Once you print your gift card, use it at any participating Showcase Cinemas in the UK.

 

 

Issues

 

The recipient hasn’t received my eGift Card. How can I resend it?

Some email systems and browsers block images and pop-ups that can prevent a recipient from receiving their eGift Card. Please contact us at [email protected] with your order number and email address used for the purchase and request support for your order.

 

I sent my eGift Card to the wrong email address. Can I send it to a different email address?

If you have sent the eGift Card to the wrong address and need to change it, please contact us at [email protected] and include the order number, the incorrect email address, and the revised email address to which you would like the card sent.

 

I didn't want to send an eGift Card, I wanted to send a plastic one. How can I send a plastic gift card?

Unfortunately, we are unable to convert an eGift Card to a plastic one. The eGift Card can be sent to you for printing and forwarding, the same way you would forward a plastic card.

 

I am having trouble viewing my gift card email. How can I access it?

Some email systems and browsers block images and pop-ups that can prevent a recipient from receiving their eGift Card. Please contact us at [email protected] with your order number and email address used for the purchase and request support for your order.

 

I inadvertently deleted my eGift Card before I could use it. How do I request a replacement?

If you are the purchaser of the eGift Card, please contact us at  [email protected] with your order number and ask for us to resend your order.

 

I lost my eGift Card print out. How do I request a replacement?

If you misplaced your eGift Card, click on the link in the original email to access it. If you no longer have the original email, please contact the purchaser of the gift card and ask them to resend it to you. If you no longer have the original email, please contact us at  [email protected] with your order number and ask for us to resend your order.

 

What should I do if my gift card is lost or stolen?

Showcase Cinemas cannot be responsible for lost or stolen cards. However, in many cases we can cancel the lost or stolen card and issue you a new eGift Card for the value remaining at the time of call. Please contact us at [email protected] for assistance.
