Everything you need to know about Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man’s identity is now revealed and Peter Parker asks Doctor Strange for help…can he restore his secret identity?

Oh yes! Spider-Man is back and to say we are excited to see his return here at Showcase Cinemas is an understatement!

So what do we know about Spider-Man: No Way Home?

No spoilers, but here is the skinny!

  • Jon Watts, after successfully helming Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) is back again as director. Watts had our pulses racing when he laid out how ambitious the production is going to be, calling the film “Spider-Man’s Endgame!

  • Tom Holland will again reprise his role of Peter Parker; marking his third solo outing as Spider-Man. But will it be his last outing as the web spinning hero?

  • Holland has revealed that he worked with Watts in reshaping the ‘crescendo scene’. The actor, who perhaps understands the nuances of Spider-Man most, spoke of sitting down with Watts and coming up with a new idea. “We then pitched it to the writers, they rewrote it, and it works great.”

  • Of course we also welcome back Zendaya as MJ (Michelle Jones), and Benedict Cumberbatch reprises his role from the MCU as Dr. Stephen Strange.

  • Also returning is the infamous Otto Octavius – aka Doctor Octopus, aka Doc Ock! Alfred Molina’s character was last seen terrorising Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 back in 2004.

  • Some Oscar gold? You bet! Winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for Ray (2004) Jamie Foxx is back again as villainous Electro!

  • And we are not done with the villain smorgasbord. Trailers have revealed Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin and Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman, and we fully expect more of Spider-Man’s nemeses to make an appearance. The Endgame references are starting to make sense!

The big question and the big rumour: are Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield also going to appear on screen? Well we will know the answer to that when the Spider-Man: No Way Home is released, and unleashed, onto the big screens here at Showcase on December 15!
