Throughout the Coronavirus outbreak, our staff and customers’ health has been and will be our top priority. We have implemented COVID-19 prevention staff training, introduced social distancing measures throughout the cinema and enhanced cleaning regimes including a non-chemical anti-viral spray used on every seat after every screening, added air purifying systems in each auditorium which kill airborne viruses, introduced new staff/customer hygiene practices including hand sanitiser for guest use, staggered the film start times, and added protective screens at till points, all under our Be Showcase Safe programme. Since the start of the pandemic, were delighted with the feedback received from so many of you that you appreciated the measures put in place to ensure your visit to us was as enjoyable as possible.

We have worked extremely hard to make all our sites as Showcase Safe as possible for the comfort of both staff and guests in time for our reopening. The video below shows the new enhanced health and safety protocols which are designed to help everyone “Be Showcase Safe”.

To summarise, the Be Showcase Safe experience includes:

Do not enter the cinema if you are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms

We encourage booking tickets in advance online and the use of card and contactless payments for any transactions in cinema. You can now also purchase your favourite food and drink online to pick up when you get to the cinema

No more than 6 tickets can be purchased in any single transaction

Face coverings are mandatory throughout all areas of cinemas in the UK for guests over the age of 11, except those exempt for health reasons. Face coverings may be removed when eating and drinking. If you do not have a face covering, you will be required to purchase one for £1 from the cinema in order to gain admission

Please avoid entering the cinema until 10 minutes before the film’s scheduled start time

In order to support the relevant local health system, guests must leave their contact information by the following methods:

England: anyone over 16 must leave their contact details for NHS Test and Trace. The best way to do this is to download the NHS Covid-19 App and check in via one of the many QR codes located around the cinema.

Scotland: anyone over 12 should leave their contact details for Test & Protect. The best way to do this is to download the Test & Protect App and check in via one of the many QR codes located around the cinema.

Wales: every guest must leave their contact details with cinema staff when visiting. Staff will be on hand to record name, contact telephone number and will ask for proof of ID, such as a bank card or driving licence, for guests aged 16 or over. This information is a mandatory requirement from the Welsh government. We would also encourage guests to check in via the NHS Covid-19 App.

Hand sanitiser stations and anti-bacterial wipes available for guests to use

Observe social distancing throughout the cinema, including within the auditorium

Protective screens have been installed at each till point

You can now scan your booking confirmation email on your smartphone to enter your film

Certain seats will not be available to be booked to allow for social distancing between parties

There will be fewer shows each day with increased time between shows to allow for thorough cleaning of the auditorium

Air purifying systems which kill airborne viruses have been installed in all screens

Where possible, help us by leaving the screen directly into the car park at the cinemas that have them

Employees will be temperature checked before their shift and will have appropriate PPE

All staff have undertaken enhanced safety and cleaning training

We are introducing an enhanced cleaning regime with high touch point areas cleaned every 30 minutes

A new non-chemical anti-viral spray used on every seat after every show, and at the end of each day
